When it's not FixMyStreet
Some things go elsewhere. The most common ones:
- Some streetlights belong to Shifnal Town Council, not Shropshire Council — check which is which.
- Missed bins, council tax, planning, benefits — use the relevant service in the directory.
- Crime / anti-social behaviour — West Mercia Police (101, or 999 in an emergency).
- Water leaks, power cuts, gas leaks — the utility companies (105 for power, 0800 111 999 for gas).
- The M54 and trunk roads — National Highways (0300 123 5000).
In an emergency, don't use FixMyStreet. Call 999 for anything dangerous — a crime in progress, a fire, a road danger, or a life-threatening situation. Report a gas leak on 0800 111 999 and a power cut on 105.
