This has been blocked for several years. It takes surface water from the sloping pavement. During rainfall the water now floods the front garden. Generally road drains in Church Street need clearing of silt. Please help here.

Shifnal Library (Broadway) is part of the Shropshire library service, but day to day it is run by Shifnal Town Council — see the Town Council's own library page. We've updated the directory entry to point at the specific Shifnal Library page and clarified who to contact.

When streetlight (by Shifnal library - col 16 I think) activates at night it proceeds to flash every second from off to full brightness. This is deeply irritating as it continues all night. This has occurred for around the last week.

What three words ///archduke.bulky.minds The trees out the back of my in laws garden are now starting to over hang there garden. The council use to manage the land behind the houses but have not done so for a while. The trees now require cutting back before they fall and cause damage to my in laws garden

Utility works have been completed in this area and instead of replacing the new block paving like for like, the area has been infilled with tarmac. We were advised this was a temporary fix. This area is part of the redesigned Shifnal Town Centre realm.

The path between Wesley Brook and Worfe road has lots of brambles damaging nearby fences. This has been going on several years, it's not maintained during strimming / cutting of the grass.

The vast majority of hedges are privately owned and maintained. Privately maintained hedges are assessed based upon an inspection. If the hedge is deemed to be above an actionable level, we will try to establish who the land owner is to ask them to undertake the work themselves. We give a reasonable time frame to comply with our request. If necessary, we can serve a notice upon the land/ property owner requiring them to cut the hedge back for encroachment and/ or safety. Hedge maintenance should be undertaken outside the bird nesting season which runs from 1st March to 30th September. However, Notices issued to rectify safety issues override the bird nesting season. This process can take a number of weeks due to the land registry requirements and associated timescales of serving notice under the Highways Act so the hedge may remain overgrown for some time. The issue you reported has been assessed and added to our list of roads of engineering concern. This means more extensive work is required than simple spot repairs. It will be considered for work as part of a larger scheme of road maintenance as funding allows. Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious issues. The list is not completed on a first come first served basis but based upon several risk and resource factors. A site's priority on the list changes regularly. Factors include weather related emergency work or awaiting the optimal time of year to complete works. Due to limited and changing resources we are unable to provide an exact timescale. Grass on the roundabout is overgrown and very dry due to the recent hot weather and is now a fire risk so it needs cutting down.

It is dangerous walking to/from corner of Market Place and Church Street because drivers sometimes drive over the path when turning left from direction of Park Street. I have on at least 2 occasions recently taken action to avoid being run over.
